Financial Aid

Paying for School Just Got Easier.

Don’t let this be the part that holds you back.

If you’re in need of financial aid to help you pay for tuition at Tidewater Tech, you’re in luck. There are a wide range of financing options available to those who qualify—including federal, state, and/or private funds in the form of grants, loans, and scholarships. When you enroll in Tidewater Tech, you’ll be able to meet with our friendly and helpful financial aid advisors who can help determine what assistance you are eligible for and walk you through the application process. Federal Financial Aid

Federal Financial Aid is based on a student’s individual needs as determined by the federal government. Tidewater Tech is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as a proprietary institution of higher education for the purpose of student participation in federal grant and loan programs.

In order to be eligible for any of our financial aid programs, you must:

Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident

Maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress

Sign a Statement of Education Purposes promising that the assistance received will be used only for school-related expenses

When you meet with a Financial Aid Advisor or Student Representative at Tidewater Tech, you will be asked to complete a free application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This will enable us to provide you with an estimate of how much financial assistance you will receive, which we can review with you as we discuss your options.

Additional Financial Assistance

Additional assistance may come in the form of military tuition assistance, state or local workforce training programs, scholarships, or loans. Please note that you are not guaranteed to receive any specific type of funding, but we’ll work with you to try and get you the funding you need.

Applications for all financial aid programs are available from the campus Financial Aid Advisor. Some of the many types of financial aid available for qualified students include:

AMERICORPS Education Award Match

To reward students who are involved in community service, we will match the Segal AmeriCorps Education Awards up to $1,000. Students must be enrolled and submit a copy of their AmeriCorps voucher in order to receive the matching award.

Let's Discuss Your Options

Once you complete your tour at Tidewater Tech and submit an application for enrollment, you will meet with a Financial Aid Advisor to review the options outlined above. Please bring proof of US Citizenship and your High School Diploma or GED Certificate with you to your appointment. If you are filing for financial aid as a dependent of a parent or guardian, please arrange for that person to join you at your meeting.

We’re here to help you get the financing you need to make your career dreams a reality.
